Life Guard helper and Bronze training
For those of you with little or no experience at all of lifeguarding, we would like to invite you to join us on the patrols to see what is involved and support the key role of the club – namely to patrol Llantwit Major beach.
You can also try out the craft in the club house and see if lifeguarding could be for you.
In fact if anyone who has any interest in becoming a lifeguard please contact me. I can personally testify to the fact that even if you can’t swim 50m, with coaching from our members and instructors and some serious (but enjoyable) dedication from yourself you can be come a lifeguard within 12 months. An excellent fitness goal!
Or if the water isn’t for you a trained first aider in the clubhouse is an equally valuable resource.
Juniors
It is important that you take advantage of the club’s craft and facilities, learn about the role of a lifeguard. So please volunteer for a number of patrols this summer by completing the attached spreadsheet.
All members
All members are entitled to use the club house.
The senior members of the club will welcome Nippers, Juniors and parents to the club house. We enjoy teaching the kids as they are the future of the club. However we enjoy it even more if their parents are around to lend a hand.
So Nipper/Junior parents please come in and use the showers, changing facilities, kitchen, toilets, rowing machines and any other equipment you want. That is what it’s there for. You have as much right to use it as those of us wearing the yellow jerseys.
